On Wednesday, December 14, 2022, Quandel broke ground on our latest senior housing project, Scranton Square. The project will be new construction of a three-story, wood-framed, 36-unit building to include both one-and-two-bedroom apartments. The project falls under Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) financing guidelines.
In a comment to The Times-Tribune, Scranton Mayor Paige Gebhardt Cognetti said “We are thrilled that we’re breaking ground on this today. It took a lot to get to this point, and we’re looking forward to seeing the full build out. We need much more housing in the city, full stop. We certainly need more senior housing.”
In the past 30 years, Quandel has completed 66 senior housing projects, totaling $269M and 2.7M square feet of construction. Scranton Square is on track to be completed in early 2024.
