Overlooking the camp’s private lake, the two-story, 18,500 square foot dining facility serves meals to 275 weekly campers.
Included in the project was an upper-level dining hall with seating for 300 supported by a full kitchen with a large deck overlooking the lake. Large and small meeting rooms, as well as support spaces, are located on the first floor. The building is a combination of wood frame construction with structural steel columns, an elevated concrete deck for the second floor, and slab-on-grade construction at the lower level.
Sitework for the building included low pressure gas system and underground storage tanks, relocation and rerouting of overhead power, sanitary lines and required stations, and a new domestic water well. Without interfering with daily camp activities, Quandel constructed the new facility while overseeing a separate sprinkler well project.
