Quandel was selected to provide construction management services for UPMC’s new, 75,000-square-foot Medical Sciences Pavilion. The addition was carefully staged and sequenced around the campus’ daily activities.
The new, three-story facility provides comprehensive cancer care, including both inpatient and outpatient radiation and chemotherapy as well as blood transfusion therapy. In addition, there is breast healthcare diagnostic imaging and private offices.
The Cyberknife Robotic Radiosurgery System was only the 64th such facility in the world at the time this project was completed.

Quandel's familiarity of our campus from previous projects over the past six years made them a natural choice to manage the construction of our new medical sciences pavilion. This was a difficult project because we made so many changes along the way as physicians added their input on medical technology equipment. Quandel was excellent at adjusting to the changes and the project managers took everything in stride. They did their very best to keep delays at a minimum and took every step to ensure our patients weren't being inconvenienced. The entire process was a fluid transition. We loo forward to future engagements with Quandel.
