Phase two of Evangelical Community Hospital’s master plan for their campus involved construction of a new, 24,000-square-foot Emergency Department addition, a new 14,000-square-foot, 24-bed post surgical unit, major renovations to the existing Imaging Department, and various other site improvements.
The new Emergency Department has the capacity to treat over 25,000 patients a year, which was an increase of 38% of the previous capacity. The addition included a new main entrance and walk-in emergency room entrance, new gift shop, and a meditation area. The Imaging Department enhanced critical services such as magnetic resonance imaging, stress testing, and angiography. It also included a new picture archiving and communication system, which eliminated the need for reading X-ray film.
The project’s various site improvements included additional parking, upgrades to the entrance ways to the hospital, and a more efficient ambulance entrance.
Together we have accomplished the successful completion of multiple projects. Throughout all of these projects, Quandel was right there to help; providing advice on construction phasing, contractor selection, problem identification and resolution, and much more. Job site supervisors were professional in their approach, thorough in their performance and truly made the jobs flow smoothly. Their interactions with architects and engineers, contractors and sub-contractors, even health department officials were constructive, positive, and forward thinking. Thank you on behalf of our staff and community for helping us provide a state-of-the-art facility in which to care for those in need.
