Project Name

Bowling Green State University McDonald Residence Hall

Bowling Green, OH

Project Description

Renovations to an existing residence hall, originally built in 1961, to primarily house 762 first-year students. The renovation was completed while students were in residence.
Quandel instituted several safety measures to ensure the well being of students and staff during construction including temporary construction fence isolates students from perimeter of wing being renovated, temporary sidewalk in place to channel students to front entrance and away from construction zone, temporary partition walls segregate construction zone from occupied spaces, and directional signage clearly identifies student spaces and construction spaces.
The renovation is part of a multi-building project in the “Northwest Neighborhood” at BGSU’s main campus, and consists of the interior fit out of the west and north wings, including adding and reconfiguring rooms and interior finish upgrades; IT, electrical, and fire alarm upgrades; and west wing bathroom expansions.
Quandel also utilized Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology to provide MEP clash detection.
