Project Description
Chosen to serve as Construction Manager based on financial stability and experience with similar projects, Quandel Construction oversaw all aspects of construction on the new Church of the Good Shepherd, including the erection of a three-dimensional mural on the facility’s exterior. Suggested by award-winning church architect Ed Novik of Minnesota and designed by Penn State professor James Stephenson, the mural was hand-carved from raw clay by Stephenson and three other artists. Once complete, the relief was cut into bricks, fired, and sent to the church’s construction site to be reassembled as part of an outer wall.
