Project Name
Cincinnati Fire Station 51
Location
Cincinnati, OH
Project Description
In September 2008, Quandel was selected to construct a new Fire Station for the Cincinnati suburb of North College Hill. A primary goal of this project was to be the first project for the City to obtain LEED Gold Certification, which became a reality in January 2010.
Indoors, low emitting materials were used for flooring, adhesives and paint, while construction waste was recycled and kept to a minimum. Regional material and supplies were purchased when possible to reduce transportation resources. Day lighting was maximized by electric screens and thoughtful window placement will reduce cooling and lighting costs. Water efficient fixtures are used throughout the facility.
