Project Name
Food Service/Dining Facility Upgrades & New Fitness Center
Location
Camp Hill, PA
Project Description
As a result of today’s emphasis on wellness and controlling healthcare costs, Highmark expanded and upgraded its food service and dining facilities and created a fitness center within their corporate headquarters in Camp Hill. Quandel was selected to provide construction management services wherein they guaranteed a competitive construction cost and a very aggressive completion date.
Working under a modified design-build format, Quandel’s project management team worked closely with the architect, food service consultant and fitness equipment vendors to ensure an efficient project execution, within and among the daily activities of the client. The renovation and construction occurred in five phases, all of which had to be closely coordinated with management and staff to maintain food service and dining throughout the program. Weekly coordination meetings facilitated regular communication among all project participants on shut downs, relocations and new traffic patterns. All work involved in the five phases was completed in six months, with minimum impact to ongoing operations.
