Project Description

Quandel Construction’s primary challenge during the construction of a new wing for the Kinkora Pythian Home was to match the existing home’s limestone exterior and still stay within budget. Quandel succeeded by using simulated limestone. The project was finished about a month ahead of schedule despite delays caused by the blizzard and other bad weather. Quandel tripled the capacity of the long-term care facility under a negotiated guaranteed maximum price contract.

I think construction management is the way to go in our specific situation as a healthcare facility. The regulations and requirements for government agencies are such that trying to run a business and a construction project means too many things to do. You can’t cover all the bases and look out for the details. Quandel handled all that well. It’s a really pretty place. The residents are enjoying it tremendously and the employees like it too. And it’s an easy place for us to market.
