Quandel was selected to construct a new, 20,000-square-foot, birthing suite, which included 26 new post-partum rooms and a nursery. The suite was built atop the existing fourth floor patient rooms. Working above the patient rooms required extensive coordination to minimize disruption. The project was delivered six months ahead of an already aggressive schedule.
Quandel also completed an additional 15,000 square feet of renovations to the existing facility, which features new state-of-the-art labor birthing rooms, a new neonatal intensive care unit, as well as other cosmetic updates to the interior.
The performance of the entire Quandel management and construction team was impeccable. Our very complex project was completed on budget, considerably ahead of a very aggressive construction schedule, and without incident or major disruption to normal hospital operations. The project management and field construction staff meticulously planned and coordinated all required utility connections with appropriate hospital staff at the operations level. The entire building process was virtually seamless resulting in the commissioning of an extremely high quality, user friendly, highly functional facility.
