The ground floor level provides convenient parking spaces for the tenants of Miners Lofts. The second floor is occupied by LIFE Geisinger Health Services, who specialize in helping seniors live independently by providing programs designed to maintain health, prevent nursing home placement and improve their quality of life.
This adaptive reuse effort was done through a program sponsored by PHFA (Pennsylvania Housing and Financing Agency) using affordable housing tax credits to help underwrite cost of the project. It is a prime example of a Public-Private-Partnership which allows interested parties to invest in much needed affordable housing for Pennsylvania citizens throughout the State.
