Quandel was hired by Northeastern York School District to serve as the owner’s representative for Phase 1 of their three-phased master renovation plan for Northeastern High School. Phase 1 includes a new addition and renovations.
The new addition to the high school houses a basement mechanical room, which supplies power and services to the entire campus. Also included are a first floor cafeteria, dining, and student common area; elevator; exterior dining area, loading dock area, new building entrance, renovated parking area; and new locker room at the football stadium and site work.
The renovated area includes new storage rooms for science and biology equipment and 36 renovated classrooms for science, biology, English, and math.
Quandel was hired to assist the owner with various contracted owner’s representative responsibilities. Quandel arranged, bid, and negotiated contracts for modular classrooms and professional services, such as Commissioning Agent and testing services. Included as part of our contracted services, our team was responsible for:
- Daily supervision of the project including quality and adherence to the contract.
- Input on the schedule and safety plan. Authorized to stop work for any major safety violation until corrected.
- Coordination between the contractors and school personnel when the project could impact students and staff.
- Assistance in coordination of work with governmental agencies, such as codes, water, and sewer authorities.
