J. Vinton Schafer Construction, LLC is the Construction Manager for the 500 W Lexington Street Sidewalk Improvement Project under the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s On-Call CM at Risk Framework Agreement. This project is part of UMB’s broader initiative to enhance community engagement and improve campus connectivity, particularly linking to the newly renovated Lexington Market. The scope includes upgrades to the streetscape, such as new curbs, sidewalks, tree pits, crosswalks, pedestrian signaling, lighting, and signage. Coordination with Baltimore City is required as they will be performing signal reconstruction at the intersection of Lexington and Greene Street.
Currently, in preconstruction, J. Vinton Schafer Construction provides key services, including scheduling, phasing, site logistics planning, permit procurement, community engagement, bidding, and GMP preparation. The project will be executed in multiple phases to ensure minimal disruption and efficient completion. Emphasizing strategic planning and stakeholder collaboration, the project is designed to enhance pedestrian safety, improve accessibility, and contribute to the ongoing revitalization efforts in the area.
