As the project manager for the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), Retriever Activities Center Renewal, I worked with J. Vinton Schafer Construction, LLC, a Quandel Company, on the $21 million, 95,200-square-foot athletic facility renovation. Since the building sits on a tight site, safety and well-planned logistics were essential. Construction occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic on a semi-occupied campus, and the construction team kept the project up and running given all the restrictions and protocols needed. The JVS team did an exceptional job from the preconstruction to closeout phases delivering the project on time and on budget. Thank you for providing UMBC with a dedicated group of individuals. I look forward to working with them on future projects.
