The project included complete gut and renovation of the 27,000-square-foot space included separating the one-story stage area into five floors, now housing academic offices, classrooms, and support spaces for the Department of American Studies. The existing auditorium seating and balcony areas were renovated into two floors comprised of general purpose classrooms. In total, the project added academic space for the Department of American Studies and eight new classrooms, including two tiered, 100+-seat, collaborative lecture halls; one 78-seat collaborative classroom; three 30-35-seat general purpose classrooms; and seminar and media classroom space.
In the middle of construction, which was initially scheduled to be complete in December, the University asked that we accelerate the schedule to allow the first floor classrooms be completed in time for the start of the Fall semester.
