The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region is moving into their new home. The brand new facility at 506 S. 29th St. in Harrisburg was built on the site of a former supermarket, a pharmacy and a restaurant.
The 39,000 sq. ft. space features classrooms, a teaching kitchen, an indoor gym, warehouse and a chapel. Furthermore, a food pantry, private offices, and commercial food prep areas aid in the nonprofit’s operations. In addition, an outdoor basketball court and two playgrounds accommodate physical activities.
An after-school program for elementary students is one offering made possible by the new building. Expanded space for the food pantry allows for further donations and a broader charitable reach.
The new home of Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region is destined to become an integral part of the community.
